Tumbling After

Tumbling After
Starfield's second independent album, Tumbling After (Canada only), was released through CMC Distribution in 2003 and featured the hit "Filled With Your Glory".

StarField

StarField
Bringing their brand of worship-filled acoustic pop/rock, Starfield releases their self-titled debut in 2004, labelled by Sparrow Records (The "Tumbling After" album is a 2002 independent release). MercyMe comparisons are present, as well as ties to many other contemporary bands flooding the market. But fans of the genre will feel right at home, as well as anyone looking for a solid disc of praise to God. The album still features some re-recording from the previous independent album: "Filled with your glory", "Alive in this moment", "Tumbling after", "Over my head", "Can I stay here forever" and "Cry in my heart".

Beauty in the broken

Beauty in the broken
Starfield's sophomore release shows that not only have they matured in songwriting since their self-titled release of 2004, they continue to seek to break out of the box labeled "modern worship." Beauty is still a very worshipful album that offers some quality ballads; however, the band isn't afraid to rock. Several of the tracks have aggressive electric guitar and gritty vocals, such as "Everything is Beautiful," "Obsession," and especially "My Generation." Though these and other tracks still seem to lack some needed originality, overall they showcase a band that offers some good music and heartfelt songs of praise.

I will go

I will go
The Canadian quartet who takes their name from a Bruce Cockburn song, Starfield, has progressively found more success with each record released. Now with their third offering, labelled by Sparrow Records, Starfield brings us a rock/modern worship collection, falling in the same vein as their previous releases, titled I Will Go. This album also features a song previously recorded by Hillsong United: Hosanna.

Starfield is a Canadian Christian music group from Winnipeg, Manitoba. The group has songs and albums that have charted in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. They have won multiple Covenant Awards in Canada. The members of the band: are Tim Neufeld (lead vocals, guitars), Jon Neufeld (guitars, vocals), Dave Lalonde (drums) and James Johnston (bass guitar).

Starfield was originally formed by brothers Tim and Jon Neufeld, both from Winnipeg. Shaun Huberts and Gordie Cochran, both of Victoria, British Columbia, had then joined the band. Shaun Huberts left the band August 9, 2006, after his last performance at the DCLA Convention in Anaheim, CA. His replacement was Dave Crisp. The band moved back to Canada (Abbotsford, British Columbia) in the fall of 2006 after several years of living in Nashville. Soon after their North American tour with Shane and Shane, featuring Bethany Dillion, both Dave Crisp and Gordie Cochran moved on. (Gordie is now playing drums on a worship team at Christian Life Assembly in Langley, British Columbia.) James Johnston (Winnipeg, MB) and Dave Lalonde (Oakville, ON) are now on bass and drums, respectively. Both James and Dave had played with Starfield on and off for the past 8 years before signing on full time in September 2008.
